But is the Meanest Word in the English Language

Posted on 12/17/2014. Filed under: lgbt | Tags: , , , |

I am sure many people will think that there are hundreds if not thousands of words much worse than but in the English language. I beg to differ. I am an out gay male. I have been out to many years to count. I have dealt with prejudice against gays for more years than not. I have seen things change drastically during my time as an out and proud gay male. I walked in Gay Pride Parades when they were a protest march instead of the corporate sponsored celebrations that they are today. I protested when the LGBT Community was fighting fairness in hiring practices and housing. I am not saying these issues are solved but it is way different from it was when I was a teenager. I never thought I would see the day when we would be fighting for Marriage Equality for all. Marriage equality was not even on the radar when I first came out. Times have changed. Prejudice and bigotry have not.

WTF???? Has the Entire Country Lost Its Mind?????

I haven’t been doing a lot of blogging as I am in school full time and also dealing with the normal health issues of being bi-polar depressive and physically disabled. I’m not complaining about my lot in life. I am no longer homeless and I am working on improving my life, but I am disgusted with what I see going on around me.

There have been ministers who call for the death of all gays or that they should be put in a fenced in area until they all die. Then we have the minister arrested for beating his teenage daughter and his church cheers as he says “If I punched my daughter, she would be hurt.” These are supposedly men of god who twist the bible and the pulpit into hatred and bigotry.  They teach their parishioners to hate others instead of teaching them about the love of God or Jesus. This accepted and embraced by people who want someone to lead them and give them and excuse to hate others since they clearly hate themselves.

Political leaders are no better. The Michigan House stops a member from speaking because she used the word vagina. They are willing to legislate about a woman’s vagina but it cannot be mentioned. How absurd is that? In Tennessee  and Missouri, they want to pass bills outlawing schools from mentioning anything about gays or lesbians in sex education classes. Like the children will turn gay just because they heard about it. Trust me. That never happens. You are either born gay or straight. It is not something you decide.

Then we have the Presidential election going on. President Obama was handed a plate full of shit from Shurb’s two terms in office. The biggest deficit in American history at that time. Of course, the fact that the deficit has increased as the President tried to keep America from going into a major depression boggles the Repugnants minds. They seem to forget that they helped cause the horrible mess due to ending regulations on banks and corporations. The Republican Party or Repugnants, as I call them,  have been instrumental in blocking every effort to help and have opposed everything the Democrats have suggested because all they wanted was to keep Obama as a 1 term president. I believe that most of their hatred is purely racially motivated. The Repugnants have proven over and over in the past 3 years that all they want is to hurt labor, the middle clas, seniors, the poor, and disabled. The Repugnats want to cut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. They also want to layoff teachers, underfund education and anything else they think is useless while they give more to the richest Americans and to corporations. What really boggles the mind is the  poor and middle class people who vote Republican without even considering what is happening to the schools in their area, that their Medicare and Medicaid are being slashed so that more and more doctors refuse to see or add any new patients who use Medicare or Medicaid. Do these yahoos really think they will be better off with schools that have no funding, medical care from community clinics, roads and bridges not repaired or with corporations moving more and more jobs overseas? Ask the people in North Carolina who use to work for furniture makers how they like not having a job. But sadly, these are the same people who will vote for the Repugnants.

I know I will personally vote Straight Democrat when election time rolls around in November. I will be voting for a party that believes in protecting children from conception to death. I will be voting for a party that believes a woman’s health choices are her own and that the government should stay out of her vagina. I will be voting Democrat because they believe that all people should be allowed to marry the person they love. I will be voting Democrat because they believe what happens in the bedroom is not anyone’s business except the consenting adults in the bedroom. I will be voting for Democrats because they believe the elderly and disabled should be treated with dignity. I will be voting a Straight Democratic ticket because the party stands for Equality for all and wants to rework the insane immigration laws. I will be voting for the Democrats because with all their flaws they are still the Party of the People.

Mikal Watts For US Senate NOT!!!

Posted on 09/19/2007. Filed under: choice, glbt rights, lgbt, Mikal watts, politics, texas politics, TX-US Senate |

Mikal Watts wants to be the next US Senator from Texas and I say NO!!! Mikal thinks women are smart enough to raise a child but too stupid to make medical decisions. He is anti-choice. Mikal also thinks Gays and Lesbians chose to be gay or lesbian. How dumb can one man be?

Oh, wait, Mikal always talks about how smart he is and how he got his law degree in record time. He also loves to flaunt the fact that he is rich and has loaned his campaign millions to buy the Texas Democratic Nomination.

Personally, I want a US Senator from Texas who thinks about Texans and not himself.

Hypocrites, Toe Tapping Senators, and Knee Pad Presidents Podcast

Enjoy! — refinish69

My Latest Podcast

  Louisiana’s Junior Senator, Republican David Vittner was a model of propriety.

He’s a married man with four children. A lector at St. Francis Xavier’s Church. A “mainstream” conservative who was “outed” yesterday as a customer of the infamous Deborah Jeane Palfrey – the “DC Madam”.

One gossip blog,, cites Mrs Vittner as being critical of Hillary Clinton during the Lewinsky scandal in a news story of the time. She’s quoted as saying, “I’m a lot more like Lorena Bobbit than Hillary – I’m walking away with one thing, and it’s not alimony”.

Politics makes strange bedfellows?

Vittner was one of the anchors of the strategy to take back Congress in 2010. Whoops.

But maybe it will be all right. Vittner claimed to have been pardoned by God in the confessional and by his wife in counseling.

Craig insists ‘I am not gay,’ police say he sought information for lawyer

Sen. Larry Craig insisted today “I am not gay” and lashed out at the Idaho Statesman for a “witchhunt” that led him to plead guilty to a disorderly conduct charge – a plea he hoped would make the charge go away.

Meanwhile, newly released police records of the bathroom incident that led to Craig’s arrest show that Craig revisited the Minneapolis airport 11 days later to complain about how he had been treated by police. He said he wanted information so his lawyer could speak to someone, according to a police report.

Craig said Monday that he did not seek legal counsel before deciding to plead guilty to disorderly conduct. Today, Craig said he has hired a lawyer to advise him what to do next.

Craig was arrested June 11 by an undercover police officer who said Craig made a sexual advance toward him in an airport men’s room near Minneapolis.

He held a nationally televised news conference today in Boise, but did not talk specifically about what happened in the men’s room and did not take questions.

“I overreacted and made a poor decision,” Craig said.

  Republican Senator Resigns Why Hasn’t The President of The Texas Stonewall Caucus Done the Same

Sen. Larry Craig announced he would resign his seat in the Senate after pleading guilty in what he now calls a police sting when he was arrested for soliciting sex in a public bathroom at an airport. He is resigning under pressure to keep from embarrassing his party, other elected officials or candidates and we head into the elections cycle. I have to ask why Shannon Bailey president of the Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus has not done the same.

Shannon was arrested after being seen by two vice cops for giving a blow job in a public park. He is in no position(excuse the pun) to be a spokesperson for the GLBT Democratic Community and has basically abdicated his position as he hides out and awaits his day in court. I agree with many others that the laws covering public lewdness are not enforced equally for the GLBT and Straight world but if you think with the head in your pants instead of the head on your shoulders, I do not have a lot of sympathy. A person in a position of public authority has to live by a higher standard and must think of the image they project and how it affects not only themselves but the Community at large.

Here is Shannon’s latest email to the executive committee of the Stonewall Caucus:

I will call any meetings from now on. There WILL NOT be any meetings of any kind until after October 5, 2007, my daughters wedding. Not one of you communicated to me or inquired about my schedule for September 30 (which happens to be rehearsal day). I AM THE PRESIDENT. You had your meeting even though it was not appropriately called and you could not muster the votes to remove me, that was your one chance. All you are currently doing is creating bad press. I will appoint the bylaws review committee shortly, I am getting commitments from the individuals. At that time I will call a meeting of the Executive Committee. I have a location for the next meeting confirmed. If any of you have question, contact me.

In solidarity (I hope),

Sounds a lot like George Bush’s claims to power to me.

Right Wing Bible Thumper Caught for Indecent Exposure

Posted on 08/02/2007. Filed under: bigots, david vitter, glbt, lgbt, mark foley, religious right, republican, republican scandals, right wing |

You have to love stories like this. The Right Wing and Religious Right are so full of Bigots and Hypocrites that it is unbelievable. They want to spend their time and effort spewing hatred while in their private lives being more depraved than any Gay or Lesbian I have ever know in the 33 years I have been out. Nothing like a good old Bible Thumping, Hell Fire and Brimstone Minister in a skirt peeing in front of children and then offering to blow the cop when they arrest him. I assume they will send him to rehab and he will come out saying “I’ve confessed and been forgiven and I no longer feel the need to wear a skirt.” The Right Wing will take his sorry ass back under their wing but hide him in a corner.

He can join Mark Foley- the Republican Pedophile, Ted Haggard- the Bible Thumping Crack Head who only enjoys sex when he pays for it, Rep. David Vitter and his many hookers, or any of the other GOP Perverts!!!

Tommy Tester, 58, of Bristol, Va., was wearing a skirt

Police also said Tester offered to perform oral sex on
officers who were sent to the scene.

Authorities identified Tester as the minister of Gospel

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

MTV Logo and the Human Rights Campaign Foundation are about to make history.

On August 9, we’ll be co-hosting the first ever televised presidential forum dedicated solely to questions about GLBT issues – and I’m thrilled to announce that I will join singer Melissa Etheridge and esteemed journalist Jonathan Capehart as panelists!

I’ll be there representing you so I need your help.

I received this email and thought it needed to be shared.

Click here to tell me what you want to hear by submitting your questions for the candidates!

This forum is really exciting for me because you and I will have the opportunity to ask the leading Democratic presidential candidates their stance on issues most important to our community.

Want to know what Senator Clinton really thinks of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell?” Want to hear Senator Obama’s thoughts on Hate Crimes legislation, or what Senator Edwards would do to address GLBT workplace discrimination? This is your chance.

We’ll have their undivided attention for two hours, so submit your questions today!

This historic two-hour forum, moderated by Margaret Carlson, will be broadcast live on the Logo network and online at the Logo website on Thursday, Aug. 9, starting at 9 p.m. EST.

Confirmed candidates now include:

* Hillary Clinton,
* Christopher Dodd,
* John Edwards,
* Mike Gravel,
* Dennis Kucinich,
* Barack Obama, and
* Bill Richardson.

This is our best chance to hear where these candidates stand on GLBT issues. The deadline for submissions is August 1st, so speak up today!

This forum is a testament to the hard work we’ve done together to keep GLBT issues at the forefront of American politics. Be sure to tune in on August 9. I look forward to your questions and to hearing the candidates’ responses.

To find out how to get Logo, click here or watch the forum live on Logo’s website.

Thank you for all you do.

Joe Solmonese

This is a historic event in GLBT History. I do not think we will get any surprise answers but I am thrilled that for once they are not just asking for the GLBT Community’s money and vote and showing no respect at all.

The Republican Party- The Party of HATE!!!

Posted on 07/26/2007. Filed under: bigotry, glbt, hate, intolerance, lgbt, ohio, Republicans, tom brinkman |

The Bigots at the Republican Party will do anything to advance trheir hatred and intolerance. Rep. Tom Brinkman knowingly let employees falsify signatures on a petition attempting to repeal a Cincinnati ordinance protecting Gays from discrimination. The judge who called Bigot Brinkman on his actions is himself a Republican but one who upholds the law unlike the Bigot Brinkman. Ohio needs to make sure this jerk is not reelected to office!!!

Blasts GOP Lawmaker In Anti-Gay Petition Fraud Case

by Newscenter Staff

(Cincinnati, Ohio) A Republican lawmaker
behind an unsuccessful bid to repeal Cincinnati’s ordinance protecting gays from
discrimination has been accused of knowing names to get the issue onto the
ballot in 2006 were fraudulent.

Two women working on behalf of
Equal Rights Not Special Rights have pleaded guilty to
election falsification.

State Rep. Tom Brinkman, who
was the head of the organization was never charged, but at a
hearing the judge in the case suggested he was involved and
knew that Lois Mingo, 48, and Precilla Ward, 32, had falsified
the petitions by crossing out names and addresses of signers
and replacing them with addresses of registered voters in
order to make them appear valid.

“It’s terrible,” said
Judge Robert Ruehlman from the bench. “It takes away the
right to democracy. It takes away the right for people to
decide issues when you cheat like that.”

How Much Does It Cost For an Altar Boy

Posted on 07/14/2007. Filed under: catholic church, glbt, homophobia, lgbt, pedophile |

The L.A. Archdiocese has decided that the payoff for an alter boy averages 1.2 to 1.3 million dollars. This is what they are paying if a their suit is settles out of court. The Catholic Church who spews hatred against gays would rather protect pedophile priest while still damning gays.

L.A. Archdiocese to settle suits for $600 million

Settlement represents Church’s largest payout in sexual abuse scandal

LOS ANGELES – The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles will settle its clergy abuse cases for at least $600 million, by far the largest payout in the church’s sexual abuse scandal, The Associated Press learned Saturday.

Attorneys for the archdiocese and the plaintiffs are expected to announce the deal Monday, the day the first of more than 500 clergy abuse cases was scheduled for jury selection, according to two people with knowledge of the agreement. The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because the settlement had not been made public.

The archdiocese and its insurers will pay between $600 million and $650 million to about 500 plaintiffs—an average of $1.2 million to $1.3 million per person. The settlement also calls for the release of confidential priest personnel files after review by a judge assigned to oversee the litigation, the sources said.
