Meet The Republican State Attorneys General

Posted on 05/31/2008. Filed under: California, gay marriage, glbt rights |

9 Republican State Attorneys General want California to stay the enforcement of their landmark ruling on Gay Marriage. This is nothing but a further attempt by the Republican party to try and deny rights to the GLBT Community. What right does any attorney general from another state have in trying to stop California’s Supreme Court?

There reasoning for the stay is this:

“The attorneys general say in court documents filed Thursday that they have an interest in the case because they would have to determine if their states would recognize the marriage of gay residents who wed in California.”

All of these states have their own version of DOMA(Defense of Marriage Act which negates their asking the California Supreme Court to stay their ruling. It is just more grand standing by BIGOTS!!!

Here are the culprits:

Mike Cox Michigan

John Suthers Colorado

Jon Bruning Nebraska

Lawrence Wadsen Idaho

Bill McCollum Florida

Talis J Colberg Alaska

Larry Long South Dakota

Mark Shurtleff Utah

Henry McMaster South Carolina

If you would like to help California to defeat the Marriage Amendment on their November ballot, click any of the Bigots pictures and it will take you to Equality for All where you can make a donation.

Kelly Ayotte finally read the civil unions law that was passed in New Hampshire last year and has removed her name as the law specifically says that New Hampshire will honor civil unions or marriages from anywhere they are legal.
