Republican Texas Capital Staffer Proves How Stupid Republicans Really Are- or Does He?

The Dallas Morning News reports:

“A veteran Capitol staffer resigned Monday over allegations he impersonated both a state representative and a newspaper reporter in the last month – first to sway a state primary race, then to glean information on an ethics complaint against his boss.

Todd Gallaher had been on leave from Republican state Sen. Bob Deuell’s office since last month, when he used an e-mail address that looked like it belonged to a Democratic lawmaker to send out embarrassing photos of a South Texas sheriff up for re-election.

As recently as Thursday night, however, he was back in Dr. Deuell’s Capitol office, apparently identifying himself as a Dallas Morning News reporter in a phone call with a California ethics watchdog.”

Now the story gets even better. After being caught being an idiot sending out the emails from a state computer in Senator Deuell’s office , Sen. Deuell and former staffer Gallaher try to say the email fake email address used to send the emails was made for an alter ego Gallaher created that was supposed to be a Republican Super Hero named Juam Garcia. What’s next a Republican super hero named Cesar Chavez?

Todd Gallaher’s stupidity and blatant disregard for the law and campaign ethics just shows how low the Republican party is willing to sink to retain power in Texas. Sen. Deuell’s weak defense of Gallaher with a cartoon drawing from the 90’s with the named spelled Jaun instead of Juan is just so much smoke and mirrors that even a two year old can see through this pathetic attempt at a cover up. It seems Sen. Deuell thinks Texans are pretty stupid also. Maybe his constituents should think abut that when election time rolls around.

It turns out the sheriff’s race that Gallaher refuses to admit any connection to paid a consultant $11,000 since July 2007 whose mailing address just happens to be poor Todd’s PO box. Seems like Todd has some explaining to do.
