Lance Armstrong Running For Office?

Posted on 11/25/2007. Filed under: itics, Lance Armstrong, Sen. Kirk Watson, Texas Democrats, texas politics |

Are we so desperate in Texas for people to elect that we will take what ever we find on the street or a bicycle? Kathy Bonner- former aide to Gov. Ann Richards and Sen. Kirk Watson are talking about Lance as a possible candidate for office. The last thing we need in Texas is another laughing stock running for any office.

Lance endorsed Shrub and even did a commercial for him in the last election. He has also been seen in public making out with an Olson twin who is only 21 years old. Is this who we want making decisions for Texans? I don’t think so.

Research shows that Lance, a long time Austin resident, never voted until 2006. I guess riding a bike, making headlines and having cancer are enough to be considered a good candidate by some but not by me. I think Texas has many superior potential candidates.

I hope Lance keeps up his good work on raising awareness about cancer survivors, research and treatment but leave elected office to others.

I am not totally convinced LA would make a good elected official. First off, I am not completely convinced he told the truth with the doping allegations when he was competing. That should raise red flags as we seek responsible, truthful leaders.
