Homophobia Rears Its Nasty Head in Fort Worth City Council Race
Fort Worth City Councilman, Chuck Silcox represents all the true nastiness of the Republican Party. He believes that if your candidate is losing, then you start slinging mud to win the race at any cost. I guess he learned from the likes of Karl Rove and Tom Delay.
The Republican of Fort Worth are running scared of Joel Burns. Joel Burns is a member of the Stonewall Democrats. His campaign web site is at http://joelburns.com . The election is 06 Nov, only two weeks away. Let’s help Joel defeat the negativity of the Republican hate machine and help get him elected.
This past week Chuckie decided his guy wasn’t doing so well so had to start slamming the lead democrat in the nonpartisan race because he is gay.

“This is an excellent time to have Republicans get out and support a Republican: Chris Turner,” Silcox told a group of about 50 at a Fort Worth Republican Women’s Club meeting and a forum for Republican state House District 97 candidates. “We have two people of opposite partisan politics, opposite philosophical persuasions and opposite sexual orientations.
“I didn’t tell you which one was homosexual,” Silcox said as the crowd laughed. Pointing to Turner, Silcox continued: “He’s married to a female, and the other’s married to a male. You make your own mind up.”

This is unacceptable and everyone should contact Councilman Silcox and let him know what they think of his homophobia and bigotry. You can call his council office at 817-392-8803 or email him at crsilcox@aol.com.
I have learned that one of the Democrats running have also had their campaign people bashing Joel and telling people to vote for Juan Rangel instead of Joel because of their kids. Well, Homophobia is unacceptable from either party and I suggest also contacting Juan and letting him know this is not appreciated at all. I would list his info but it seems he doesn’t have a campaign web site that I can find. Homophobia and bigotry have no place in Texas politics and shame on both Silcox and Rangel for playing the hate card. Both of these men owe Joel Burns and the citizens of Fort Worth an apology.
