Mikal Watts For US Senate NOT!!!

Posted on 09/19/2007. Filed under: choice, glbt rights, lgbt, Mikal watts, politics, texas politics, TX-US Senate |

Mikal Watts wants to be the next US Senator from Texas and I say NO!!! Mikal thinks women are smart enough to raise a child but too stupid to make medical decisions. He is anti-choice. Mikal also thinks Gays and Lesbians chose to be gay or lesbian. How dumb can one man be?

Oh, wait, Mikal always talks about how smart he is and how he got his law degree in record time. He also loves to flaunt the fact that he is rich and has loaned his campaign millions to buy the Texas Democratic Nomination.

Personally, I want a US Senator from Texas who thinks about Texans and not himself.

Vote in the DFT Senate Endorsement Poll

Posted on 09/19/2007. Filed under: democracy for texas, Mikal watts, rep. rick noriega, rick noriega, texas politics, TX-US Senate |

I received this email from Democracy For Texas and wanted to share it with my readers.

John Cornyn has been on the wrong side of countless issues that are critical to Texans in general and DFT supporters in particular. Beyond that, well, he’s just an embarrassment. But we’re not telling you something you didn’t already know, right?

Democracy for Texas has never endorsed a candidate for public office. But this race is too important to the future of our state and our country not to put all of our resources behind the candidate we feel best represents our “socially progressive, fiscally responsible” philosophy.

Two candidates – State Representative Rick Noriega and Mikal Watts - are running to be the Democratic nominee to oppose Cornyn. Which one should get DFT’s support?

Do you need more information about the candidates? Check out their answers to DFT’s Questionnaire here.

Voting will run through midnight Saturday, September 22. Results will be updated daily beginning on Wednesday, and the winner will be announced on Monday, September 24.

1. One person, one vote. If you vote more than once, all of your votes will be tossed.

2. You must be a Texan.

This race is getting national attention, but the opinions that matter the most are those of Texans. Who do you think can send John Cornyn into retirement with his buddy George W.?

Your DFT Steering Committee -

Thank you to the DFT Steering Committee for putting this together.

MY VOTE AND THOUGHTS

I have read the statements by both candidates and I voted For Rick Noriega!!! Rick is a true Texas Leader and a Progressive who represents the best of Texas Values. He does not like bullies and has been a strong supporter of GLBT Rights during his 5 terms in the Texas Legislature.

Rick also trust the women of Texas to make their own medical decisions and has a 100% approval rating with NARAL on issues of choice.

Once you have voted for Rick, please join Team Noreiga by making a donation.
